Product details

For those who have known or had Distance V, Distance VI will create a new level of excitement to be shared between your feet and the shoe. The company introduces Newtonium™ to Distance VI. This is a new cushioning package, which is 52% more responsive than the standard one. The well-known POP1 comes with the lugs that are bigger and stiffer in the forefoot, and therefore creates the most responsive spring. The new improved upper, a more stretchable and breathable mesh can keep the feet ventilated. With the seamless design, uses are quite happy to wear the shoe without socks!

The excellent performance comes with a higher price. Thus, for those who haven’t tried Newton shoes, the AHA , the FATE II or the Motion V might be a more reasonable choice. Those who are addicted to natural running will enjoy the more powerful and effortless running experience brought by the new Distance.

Size and fit

The shoes is generally true to size. The toe box may be a close fit for some users. Some find the new shoe is slightly still on the top of the toe during the first run. It breaks in very quickly.

Outsole/ Midsole

The Distance VI features a tighter-tuned trampoline lug membrane than the Gravity or Motion for greater responsiveness and power. The Distance VI adopts Newtonium™, a new cushioning package that will be included in all 2017 POP1 models. The design brings responsive cushioning closer to the foot to extend the energetic ride. Both Distance V and VI have 2mm of drop, which contributes to the shoe’s light weight and is best for Neutral feet. Some users notice that the sole may wear a bit quicker than other types of Newton shoes, but it is truly worth it.

Upper

The shoe uses highly-breathable mesh to keep the feet stay cool and avoid swelling after a long run. The upgraded new seamless upper provides overall fit and comfort. It can be worn with or without socks. The Distance VI uses a suede tongue and lightly padded collar to ensure the tongue stays in place and avoids abrasion during a race. To many users, another noticeable change is the colorways. Both Distance V and VI stay in more subtle colors, unlike other flashy or crazy ones that Newton have produced.
